Printing Guide - General Articles
We produce printing products of the highest quality for you.
To produce such products in optimal quality, we need the data to have a very good resolution.
For the highest standards, there should be vector data for any print job.
Formats:
*.ai - (Adobe Illustrator)
*.cdr - (Corel Draw)
*.pdf - (Adobe Acrobat)
*.psd - (Adobe Photoshop)
*.tiff - (e. g. Adobe Photoshop, Indesign)
*.jpg - (all accessible programs)
In vector graphic formats you have to make sure that texts are converted to paths / curves!!!
You have to create your files in CMYK and with at least 300 dpi resolution so they can be printed. RGB cannot be printed!
Please don't use cutting marks, media wedges or registration marks.
A conversion from RGB to CMYK is only possible with a tonal value change.
To find out whether text or RGB objects are in your document, you can look
in CorelDraw under the menu point File > Document Info. In Adobe Illustrator you'll find fonts in the menu point Text > Search fonts.
Please select no raster surface under 10% tonal value. For technical reasons we cannot guarantee you a quality print for such generated gradients and tonal values.
Use no lines of the strength "hairline". These hairlines
are in each program and exposure varies widely. Some are not visible.
Creation:
For a printable file, you first have to create a background with the dimensions for your product specified (see below), with a resolution of at least 300 dpi or 600 dpi in CMYK color mode.
A resolution of 405 dpi is optimal for the 80 raster used in printing flyers.
To give you clean straight edges without borders, we need print data with a bleed from:
2 mm - for flyers, business cards, posters, stationery
The bleed section is cut off after the print.
For tolerances while cutting your order - occuring through heat and humidity (paint & lacquer) - we also need a tolerance zone of 3 mm per edge.
For a rich black, we recommend C50 M30 Y30 and K100.
For flyers, posters, business cards, and postcards, the absolute distance
for fonts, graphics and logos of a print file is 5 mm (2 mm margin section + 3 mm tolerance zone) on each outer edge.
Do you have suggestions for an improved description for the preparation of
print data? We look forward to your proposals. Use our contact form.
Data transfer:
The data transfer is available during the order process. (see How to).
When you fill out your order information, you can also select the print data from your computer (network storage places are also possible).
