HiEffects - Iriodin Lacquer
Iriodin Lacquer / Afflair Lacquer
Let your flyers, event tickets, business cards, or post cards shine in every color of the rainbow with iriodin lacquer! Decorative color effects can be made with iriodin lacquer (known under the brand name "Afflair" in North America) which have an iridescent or also changeable effect and can vary from pigment to pigment according to refractivity, surface coating, and transparency.
The color effect of iriodin lacquer changes according to its angle of incidence, i.e. the angle at which one holds the print item against the light, so that a new impression arises with every movement of the item printed with iriodin lacquer. In this way, your print materials can dazzle with every color of the rainbow when coated with iriodin lacquer.
Iriodin lacquer consists of pigments which are linked to the lacquer itself. The iridescent effect, also called rainbow effect, grows in intensity with each layer of iriodin lacquer due to the thicker pigment layers with each coat.
The iriodin lacquer print finish offers a surface coating which, according to the compilation of the pigments, leave no wish unfulfilled. Larger pigment particles in the iriodin lacquer allow for a silky, mother-of-pearl-like shine with many layers of the iriodin coating. In contrast, smaller pigment particles of iriodin lacquer glitter with higher intensity. Iriodin lacquer's best effect is acheived on smooth, cast-coated paper and cardboard.
